human fur
experimental workshop with artist and designer Bart Hess, 2016
Conceptual material experimentation and photography inspired by natural surfaces and animal textures.
Inspired by the tactility and rough surfaces of sea creatures, this project dealt with creating textures that protrude and break away from the natural surface of human skin. Using mostly discarded materials, cardboard, and stockings, the material exploration focused on ways to create structures and patterns that seem to escape the body in different proportions, from subtle disruptions to the completely disproportional.
